SIDS has initiated the “Mission M’oral’ Equality” with a benevolent foresight of serving the underprivileged sections of the society through Oral health camps in a periodical manner walking over the inconsistent practice of sporadic camps that are organized only on special occasions. Standing by the motto of ‘Service, Knowledge & Kindness’ SIDS has endeavoured in reaching out to numerous communities with remote access to oral health care, identifying the oral health needs of the people, and making efforts in reducing the burden of oral diseases by providing treatment services as necessary. This includes oral health camps, village and school adoptions, oral health awareness and education programs, rural dental health centres.

As a part of the extension activities and rural outreach programs, the Departments of Public Health Dentistry and Pediatric Dentistry have conducted 1319 programs. The institute has adopted two villages in the vicinity, Takkellapadu and Kothareddypalem in an effort to display a model society through remarkable oral hygiene practices. SIDS has also adopted two government schools and established dental health centres at Acharya Nagarjuna University, Namburu and Chebrolu. The institute organizes educational programs to create local impetus of change that transforms the face of the community.

The consistent efforts that have been continued through years of implementation testifies for success by itself and the rise in the graphs over the patients screened and motivated to maintain oral hygiene is another offshoot of the practice. The self-confidence, extent of clinical exposure and self-esteem of students have raised the bars in shaping their professional careers as years pass by. The number of students from the institution who secured admissions and roles in prestigious Institutions abroad and in organizations like Tata Trust, National Institute of Nutrition, Public Health Foundation of India etc. which serves as an excellent justification.

I would like to express my gratitude to the staff and students of the department of pediatric dentistry, Sibar dental college for the efforts and sincerity shown by them in conducting camps on a regular basis in our institute for the Differently abled. Our children benefit from camps in terms of maintaining their oral health.

I attended various health camps and awareness programs conducted by the institution during my undergraduation. Involving in outreach activities has helped me imbibe various skills and secure a spot at a better university for my Masters in Health Care Administration.
