Clinical Research, a branch of health care science that determines the safety and effectiveness (efficacy) of medications, devices, diagnostic products, and treatment regimens intended for human use that may be used for prevention, treatment, diagnosis, or for relieving symptoms of a disease.

Clinical Research, a branch of health care science that determines the safety and effectiveness (efficacy) of medications, devices, diagnostic products, and treatment regimens intended for human use that may be used for prevention, treatment, diagnosis, or for relieving symptoms of a disease.

Clinical Research deals with systematic, observational, and well-planned experimental studies performed in human subjects to test new drugs, the combination of drugs, devices, biologics, and vaccines for safety and efficacy. It is also used to test new approaches to surgery, radiotherapy, or procedures to improve the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of disease providing good quality of life to the patient.

With this motto, the Department of Clinical Research was established on 1st April, 2021. The department was inaugurated by Dr. Krishna Kanth Pulicherla, Scientist, Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, in the presence of Dean, Dr. L Krishna Prasad, Director, Dr. Krishna Mohan, and Heads of all the Departments and Faculty. Presently the department is working on many funded projects, clinical trial studies, running skill lab, eLearning, and training resources like clinical trial trainee fellowships, skill training programs, etc.

The major functions of the Department of Clinical Research are to oversee the following areas:

• Conducting Clinical Trials
• Consultancy jobs
• Global Initiative of Academic Networks (GIAN)
• Patent know-how and transfer of technology
• Sponsored fellowships/assistantships
• Research assistance grants
• Promotion of Institute – Industry Interaction
• Collaboration with institutions in India and abroad
• MoUs/ MoAs for collaborations
