It is located on Guntur - Tenali state highway, just 3.5 Kms from Guntur central bus station and half Km away from Calcutta - Chennai National Highway 5.
The college has excellent full time teaching faculty under the leadership of Dr. L. Krishna Prasad, the Dean of the College. He along with other key faculty members are devoting their precious time for the development of the institution and for the welfare of the students. The college has a state-of-the-art infrastructure facilities and is rated one of the best.
The college has International Student Exchange programme with UMDNJ, Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, USA and Faculty of Dentistry, The University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong.
The college has also started an International Visiting Faculty Programme (IVFP) with UMDNJ, New Jersey, USA and Faculty of Dentistry, The University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong.
The college has a strategic tie-up with Ramesh Hospitals, Guntur and NRI Medical College & Hospital for clinical and pre-clinical training for its students.

Leaders of the profession – outstanding clinicians, lecturers and professors of national and international repute – are on the faculty of the SIDS. Few are in the executive committee of international and national professional bodies, editors of various dental journals and members of Board of Studies of the University. Under the tutelage of highly trained and productive professors, the student acquires a solid foundation in the biomedical sciences. This knowledge forms the basis for understanding the wide variety of diseases that a dentist must diagnose and treat. Skillful and experienced clinical lecturers/professors guide the student in acquiring technical skills and developing clinical judgement. Instructors with qualifications in the basic and clinical sciences assist the student in applying basic science knowledge to clinical problems.
