Dental Camps 2022

January

On 7th & 19th of January 2022, Department of pedodontics and preventive dentistry conducted a free school dental health screening and awareness program in Zilla Parishad  Vunnatha Patashala, Mandal Parishad Primary School,  Pallapadu, Guntur and VSR & JDM  Zilla Parishad High School, Angalakuduru in which 81 & 137 students were screened from the  respective schools & referral cards were distributed to needful children. The program was done with a primary intention to educate the children about brushing technique, diet counselling, progression of dental caries and tips for teachers to maintain and educate the children about good oral hygiene. 

February

On 24th and 28th  February 2022, Department of pedodontics and preventive dentistry conducted a free school dental health screening and awareness program in MPUP High school, Obulnaidupalam and Sai Aditya School, koritipadu respectively. 145 and 104 students from both schools were screened individually and referral cards were issued. Students and teachers were enlightened about oral health and hygiene related topics.

March

As a part of World Oral Health Day Celebrations, Dept Of Pediatric Dentistry conducted free dental awareness camps in about 12 schools in and around Guntur from 11th to 26th March, 2022 with active participation of 1215 students. The programs included awareness lectures to the teachers and children regarding oral and general health, Live & Video demonstrations, various competitions involving the students.

April

Department of Pedodontics and preventive dentistry conducted a free school dental health screening and awareness program in Stalls girls high school ,Lutheran model high school, and SRMO High school of Guntur  On 13, 18, 20 April respectively . The students screened included 200,100,138 from the individual schools along with issue of referral cards to the needful students. Awareness lectures and demonstrations  on  models were a part of the program.

July

On 12th july 2022, Department of pedodontics and preventive dentistry conducted a free school dental health screening and awareness program in KKR GOWTHAM SCHOOL, GUNTUR in which around 200 students  were screened and enlightened about various oral health care procedures.

August

During august 2022 screening and awareness camps were organized in seven schools in and around Guntur and Vijayawada where in approximately 1750 students were screened. Children were also enlightened about various topics such as progression of dental caries, tips for good oral hygiene, importance of visiting a dentist, balanced diet etc. Children with oral problems were given yellow referral cards for the required treatment.

September

On 23rd September 2022 school dental health camp was conducted at sri chaitanya techno school, Guntur. The proceedings of the camp included screening of about 200 children and awareness lectures on brushing techniques, management of avulsed tooth and tips for teachers to educate children about good oral hygiene.

October

On 13th, 14th and 31st October 2022 screening and educational camp for students were organized at Sri chaitanya techno school- vja, MPUP school-kanteru and Sri Chaitanya e- techno school-Guntur respectively. Around 850 children were screened for caries and other oral problems following which lectures on selection of proper tooth brush and tooth paste, care to be taken to avoid trauma and demo on proper brushing technique were delivered.

November

As a part of children’s day celebrations 2022 dental camps were organized with the theme “Don’t rush while you brush”. Two camps were conducted in residential Adivasi upper primary school and wisdom children’s academy in Guntur which included screening of approximately 400 students along with awareness talks on diet and dental caries, relation of oral health with general health and progression of dental caries.

December

Continuing with the children’s day month celebrations 2022, ten dental health screening and awareness camps along with one camp for specially abled children were organized by the department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry. Approximately 2800 students along with 70 special children were screened. Live demonstration on brushing technique and mouth rinsing, lectures on diet and dental caries, progression of dental caries, management of avulsed tooth, balanced diet, relation of oral health and general health, selection of proper tooth brush and tooth paste, importance of visiting a dentist etc were given depending on the age. Teachers were also enlightened about management of dental trauma and misconcepts of dental treatments. Children with oral problems were given yellow referral cards for the required treatment.
