The Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology at Sibar Institute of Dental Sciences organized a national-level workshop specifically designed for postgraduate students from across the country. The course, titled “The Old Vs New School of Lasers! From Mundane „cutting‟ to enhanced healing of mucosal lesions. Head & Neck neurology & Oral oncology” was led by Dr. CHANDRASHEKAR YAVAGAL, MDS (GOLD MEDALIST), DORTH, PhD Laser Biophotonics, Senior Professor & P.G Guide in Paediatric Dentistry, Bapuji Dental College & Hospital, Davanagere, India. As a facilitator he emphasized in-depth understanding of the historical development of laser technology in dentistry, from traditional cutting applications to modern healing-focused approaches, the limitations and challenges associated with traditional laser applications and also real-world case studies that demonstrate successful outcomes using laser technology and PBM. The course was well-attended by delegates from all over the country, showcasing the expanding interest in lasers and their uses in dental care.
