National IAOMR Day is celebrated annually on April 24th to commemorate the founding of the Indian Academy of Oral Medicine and Radiology (IAOMR) in 1985. It’s a day to recognize the importance of Oral Medicine, Oral Diagnosis, Maxillofacial Radiology, and Imaging Sciences, while promoting continuing education, research, and community service.

On this occasion, the Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology at Sibar Institute of Dental Sciences organized a series of programs. The day commenced with the unveiling and display of a banner within the college premises, aimed at raising awareness and educating outpatients on the theme “Prevention of Oral Pre-Cancer and Cancer”.

On this day, all outpatients were divided into small groups and engaged by faculty members, who provided awareness on oral pre-cancer and cancer, emphasizing prevention and early diagnosis. The event also featured poster presentations and a skit performed by undergraduate students based on the given theme. All posters were evaluated, and the best four presentations were selected and awarded certificates by the Principal, Dr. B.V. Ramana Reddy. All postgraduate students of Oral Medicine and Radiology department, contributed by delivering concise discussions on the day’s theme to the undergraduate students.
